CHEW ME, SCREW ME

2021, 23cm X 95cm L X 42cm H

Tin Foil, Clay, Plastic Gems, Found Object -Mincer

'CHEW ME, SCREW ME' The idea is to make the mince meat, ironically to portray the female form (although meat is a masculine ideal and substance), therefore - would like to add more pinkish tones on to the meat itself, due to the colour stereotypically female, to emphasise this portrayal I will create clay nails which are delicate and decorative (stereotypical female attributes). This work will also include a meat mincer, either found or made (depending if I can get ahold of one) This object will be coloured blue - the stereotypical male colour - to portray a strong, masculinity, emphasised by the machinery. The way this work will be portrayed is the motion of meat being mince with long strands of meat coming out of the mincer. Held up by catgut - reflecting our western and patriarchal society, shaping and making women inferior within the hierarchy of mankind. Linking to the ideal of Mr Breadwinner (the worker, machinery, bring in the income) and Mrs Consumer (the spender, looking like a trophy, high-fashion nails etc.)
