Mixed Media Sculpture, Clay, Plastic Gems,  PVA Glue, Tinfoil, Acrylic Paint and Found Object- Marigold Gloves.

The use of the Marigold not only stereotypically increases the idea of a women's domestic role, but although practical -the rubber material itself the glove is made from portrays an idea of sexualisation.

The nails on the Marigolds resemble the talons of a bird. This is pretty ironic as the slang name of a girl/women said my men is 'bird'. Modern usage of this term has been revived by the media, especially starting from the below usage of News Chronicle article. [It was a British daily newspaper, later absorbed into the Daily Mail.] The American version of the slang being 'chick'. However, this term is many (especially in the news) is used as derogatory. Therefore, this adds my portrayal of men shaping and creating, could we say the 'bird' stereotype.
